On this page you will find a selection of our favourite places in the area, and we hope that this will inspire you to go and explore this beautiful part of the country.

Rock Beach is a continuation of Daymer Bay and is a west-facing, sandy beach on the Camel estuary, surrounded by sand dunes. There is easy, level access from the car park, though the area tends to be very crowded in the main season.
The carpark is adjacent to the beach, and there are refreshments and toilets available. There is also a ferry to Padstow, which runs every 20 minutes, taking around 5-10 minutes.
This surfing hotspot is great for those looking for thrills, but Polzeath beach is a fantastic beach even for those not looking to ride the waves. Keep your eyes peeled and you may spot some dolphins playing in the waves!
The carpark is adjacent to the beach and there are refreshments and toilets available.
A west facing, ½ mile stretch of fine sand, surrounded by sand dunes, Daymer beach provides attractive views across the Camel Estuary. Adjacent to a golf course and close to the 15th century St Enodoc church – the last resting place of the poet Sir John Betjeman. This is a fabulous place for dog walking and windsurfing.
The car park overlooks the beach, and there are refreshments and toilets available.
Padsto's two closest beaches are St George's Cove, which has a good area of sand even at high tide, and Harbour cove, a long stretch of golden sand backed by dunes. Both beaches are accessible but require a considerable walk from the parking area. As the tide goes out, the sands stretch all the way from St Saviour's Point in the south to the ruins at Gun Point about half a mile to the north. At low-tide it is possible to walk along the sand to Harbour Cove and Hawkers Cove beyond.
Facilities in Padstow only.
Greenaway Beach's location, tucked away along the coastal path between the popular beaches of Polzeath and Daymer Bay, means it stays relatively quiet, even during the summer months.
The beach is sheltered with plenty of little coves, and rock pools at low tide to keep the children entertained. The beach features very unusual banded purple and green slate rocks - great for geologists!
Greenaway beach is dog friendly all year round.
There are no parking or amenities (including toilets) and access is via steps.
Lundy Bay is a wide sandy bay with plenty of sand at low tide but only a rocky beach left at high tide.
There are no facilities at Lundy Bay and the car park is small.
A few minutes east on the coast path is another small beach at Epphaven Cove, but access here is difficult.
For contemporary paintings and art pieces, Whitewater Gallery is a beautiful gallery for the art lover.
You may notice their pieces in Treveth Lowen!
Port Isaac is an idyllic cove that has everything you need for a great family day out. Take along your bucket and spade, because this beach is a mix of sandy and shingle, so perfect for making awesome sandcastles.
The ocean itself is quite sheltered due to the harbour, making it ideal for a little splash around.
Their website details lotsof talks, walks and activities throughout the region - take your camera for a wondeful day out.
When visiting the Sanctuary, you can experience wonderful marine animals up close and personal, and learn all about their individual stories.
The brand new £8.5 million emmersive visitor attraction sees the introduction of a brand new 'Dark Walk' experience, enabling you to explore through the impressive buildings.

"I stayed at beautiful Treveth Lowen with two children and two dogs in August 2021 and booked again for October 2021.
Both stays were perfect..."
